We have seen that the speed kills mantra is a safety scare that costs lives

We have seen that exceeding the speed limit is a negligable contributory factor in accidents

We have seen that speeds limits are now set arbitrarily anyway at the whim of local politicians who are not qualified to do this in the way the road engineers are

We have seen that crash statistics are a minefield that can be used to support whatever activists want them to support

CRUCIALLY we have seen that in order to minimise the risk of crashes, speed should not be viewed as a factor in isolation to two other factors, Surprise and Space because all three must be kept IN BALANCE for crashes to be prevented.
